The innovative, CACREP-accredited online Master of Arts in Counseling prepares students to become self-reflective practitioners who offer clinical mental health counseling to clients in a range of professional settings. With a curriculum that builds a foundation in traditional counseling practices while also incorporating the psychodynamic perspective and reflective practice, the Counseling@Northwestern program features:

Northwestern University is dedicated to preparing the next generation of counselors, including aspiring counselors who will enter the field for the first time. Neither prior counseling experience nor GRE scores are required for admission to Counseling@Northwestern. We offer a Standard Program and a Bridge to Counseling Program designed to prepare our less experienced students for coursework and clinical work with real clients. All coursework and clinical training is based on standards set forth by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
